The main entrance of the temple faces the historic Pinthaliya Ambalama, a unique landmark believed to be the only surviving Pinthaliya Ambalama in Sri Lanka. Traditionally, an Ambalama served as a roadside resting place for travelers, while the Pinthaliya was specially designed to provide free drinking water to visitors and passersby as an act of generosity and community service. This rare structure stands as a remarkable example of Sri Lanka’s cultural heritage and reflects the long-standing tradition of offering hospitality and compassion to all.
