The temple has long been committed to serving the community through a variety of social welfare and charitable activities. Guided by the Buddhist values of compassion, generosity, and kindness, the temple actively supports local residents through religious, educational, and community development programs. Annual almsgiving ceremonies, Bodhi Puja programs, assistance to underprivileged families, support for students, and community welfare initiatives are regularly organized with the participation of devotees and well-wishers. Through these efforts, the temple continues to strengthen social harmony, promote moral values, and contribute to the well-being of the community while preserving the rich cultural and spiritual heritage of Buddhism.

Whenever natural disasters or national emergencies affect communities across Sri Lanka, our Chief Incumbent has taken a leading role in organizing relief efforts and providing assistance to those in need. With the generous support of devotees, well-wishers, and neighboring temples, the temple has collected and distributed essential supplies, including food, clothing, medicine, and other necessities directly to affected families.

Some of the major humanitarian initiatives undertaken by the temple include:

a) Assistance to Families Affected by the Easter Sunday Attack (2019)
Relief assistance was provided to approximately 150 affected families in the Katuwapitiya Church area of Negombo following the tragic Easter Sunday attack.

b) Support for Flood and Cyclone Victims in Kalawana, Rathnapura (2020)
The temple organized and distributed relief supplies to approximately 200 displaced and homeless families affected by severe floods and cyclones in the Kalawana area of Rathnapura District.

c) Assistance to Flood and Cyclone Victims in Medirigiriya, Polonnaruwa (2026)
Essential relief materials were collected and distributed to approximately 200 homeless and affected families in the Medirigiriya area of Polonnaruwa following severe flooding and cyclone-related damage.

Through these charitable initiatives, the temple continues to uphold the Buddhist values of compassion, generosity, and service to humanity, extending support to communities regardless of religion, ethnicity, or background.
